Beatrice is the cutest bulldog quilt block around and I may be a little biased. I designed her as a foundation paper pieced block because FPP lets you get all those adorable bulldog details, the wrinkly face, the little jowls, in a way that traditional piecing just can't. My amazing pattern testers made such cute versions: bright colorful bulldogs, sparkle eyes, bulldogs turned into pillows. Every single one brought their own style and the results were adorable.
About the Pattern
The Beatrice Bulldog is a foundation paper pieced block that finishes at 14 inches square, or 18 inches square with the addition of borders. The pattern comes with printable FPP templates, fabric amounts, and detailed sewing instructions with multiple diagrams showing where each fabric piece goes and the order to sew each section. While the pattern includes lots of guidance, this is an intermediate-level FPP project, familiarity with foundation paper piecing is recommended. Make 9 blocks and you have a 54-inch square quilt.
