The story behind the Floored Quilt

Floored is one of those patterns that looks complex but is surprisingly straightforward to piece. The medallion blocks are the perfect place to showcase those beautiful prints you've been hoarding, and the X blocks fill in around them to tie everything together. I love how different this quilt can look depending on whether you go scrappy, ombre, uniform, or pull from a single fabric line.

A few fun ways you can make this pattern your own.

Make each medallion unique and piece the X blocks from various fabrics for a scrappy, one-of-a-kind look.

2

Different medallions with uniform X's

Varied medallions paired with a consistent X block fabric for a more structured feel that still showcases your favorite prints.

3

Ombre medallions

4

Fabric line version
